Playing With Picasa

Boredom leads to experimentation
Can you tell it's been edited?
Creepy...

O, yea, Badi! I finally found your effect!!!
Don't worry; the secret's safe with me ;-P

Just a little retouching...

Hehe more color!

As usual, somebody intruduced me to a program (Picasa, in this case), and I was reluctant to use it, then immediately began loving it.
Thanks, Badi! :)

I Can See Us In The Countryside

Welcome to Cox Farms, Home of the Largest Pumpkin in Virginia, Fall 2008 (weighing 1007 pounds!)

Lost Teachers and Parents Found Here!

Why are you going down backwards, Nate?

My face is too big for this...

Follow the Yellow Brick Road!

Funhouse Mirror!

Mutants from Mars!!! :-O

The Paintings Are Watching...0.0

No, I'm not too old for this ;-P

Jungle Boy!

Yeeehooo!

Majorly Fun!

A hayride brought us through a very strange combination of lands...

Cute!

I 'hennaed' myself with paint, except it came off as soon as I washed my hands :(

Free Pumpkins!!!!

Mr.Gourd the Skeleton Man

Gourds!!!!

On Sunday, we went to Cox Farms somewhere out in Virginia country. It was so much fun! There were mazes and slides and food! And the air was nice and clean (though very hot, almost summery sadly). Well, it was a nice mix of old and new farmland, to say the least. Afterwards, we bought pumpkins to carve for Halloween, as that was our original purpose. All in all, a fun family outing. I'm just glad I had Monday off to do my homework!

Homecoming =D

Only one word to say about the dance: FUN!!!!!

Unfortunately, everyone kept running away from me, and then I had too much fun dancing, so I didn't get any good photos. :( =D

Tips for a successful social:
  • Play at least one song that involves formation dancing/has specific dance moves

  • Play songs that you can actually dance to

  • Play songs that most people know

  • Don't allow too many bands to play, if any at all!
  • ssssssssllllllllllllluuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrr the music so it never stops!

  • Flashing Lights

  • Kick off your shoes

  • Most Importantly - Don't feel self concious: just move to the music and enjoy yourself!

And that's pretty much what made the dance so great.

In fact, I was really sad to have to leave early! The evening would have been perfect, minus the minor incident that happened afterwards, but we'll not mention that now....

Spirit Week!

It's Homecoming Week, People! Show some Woodson Spirit, y'all!

Monday: Wacky Tacky

Lovin' them leggings ;-P

Tuesday: Salad Dressing
As the Freshmen (us) were "House" salad dressing, we got to wear our Woodson gear. Fun...

Wednesday: 80s Day (oops! I forgot to take a picture before I changed!)

Thursday: Circus!

Somebody had some fun with my camera...

Friday: Woodson Spirit!
This is a picture of the back of the school, and some of the students walking to the field for the Pep Rally, which is supposed to be a show of school groups (eg. cheerleaders, marching band) to help boost our morale and feel good about our school. As I said, SUPPOSED to.

Friday night was our Homecoming Game. Homecoming is where the school's football team (American football, naturally) plays a game in their home stadium after a long string of games away. I had fun stuffing myself at the Pre-Game Pigout, and then screaming my head off at our boys. ;-P We barely beat Madison 20-17 in the end 0.0

...And the Candles?

Our beautiful cake!

The (former) Birthday Girl!

O no! Where are the matches?

That's the flame?

Make a wish!

Dad! That didn't count!

Once again, happy belated birthday, Lily! Hope we find some matches soon....

We're Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

This was...I don't know...about a month ago? Oh well, enjoy your mini tour of D.C!

Crossing the Memorial Bridge

Lincoln Memorial!

Amazed?

The Kennedy Center

The Watergate. Apartment Complex. Famous for various scandals during Nixon's presidency.

O, right, this was supposed to be a zoo trip!
A beaver, as you can see =D

There was a dance performance, so they hid away the anteaters :(

OMG A Green Food-Mobile!!!!!

Lions...

...and tigers...

...and mist machines?

Run, cheetah, run!

Giant Hippo!!!!!! (or as my French teacher calls it, 'eepponapotamoos')

Prairie Dog!

Memorial to those who died in the Pentagon on 9/11

And that was our trip to the zoo

Appologies!!!

I'm sorry for the lack of updates, everyone!

As I'm sure all of you are, I've been extremely busy lately, and so have been falling behind with updates. But, we have a long weekend this week, so I will try to make up for the lack of posts.

What to expect (may change):
  • We're Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo
  • ...And the Candles?
  • Spirit Week!
  • Homecoming =D

And that's about it for now. I will try to get the updates done sometime this weekend, but, as for now, I need to clean my room and get ready for homecoming.

Hope to catch up with you all next weekend!
