SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!!!!!

So here are the pics from the snow yesterday:

In rain or snow or sleet or hail, the mailman comes without a fail!

Preetty =D

Our Back Porch

I was trying to be artistic here ;)

Yes, we're all bundled up!

One of the various streets

Killy the Lid (aka Lily the Kid, aka a masked bandit)

And then this morning, the one day I actually managed to wake up at 6, I find out that school is closed because of icy roads! Imagine...so, I went outside to comfort my dad, who had to chisel ice off the car and drive to work despite the weather. After being out in the cold, beautiful, quiet morning for 5 minutes, I was so awake I almost came online to surprise you all! But then, I got to my nice, toasty, warm room, and kinda fell asleep =.=
Our Street

Icy Trees!

My under-dressed sister out playing in the snow

Note the black spot where my dad's car was

Icicles!

My bro, playing with the icy snow

Artsy =D

Inaguration! :)

Originally, we WERE going to go to actual inaguration in DC on Tuesday, but as I got sick and we all woke up late and it was really really cold outside, we just stayed home and watched it on our tiny TV instead :)
Yes, we really were at the Capital building when it all happened!
See? I WAS in the crowd!

OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA!

There, Alex! I wore my penguin slippers to the Inaguration! I just forgot my sushi socks....

O yea...

No, we are not over-enthusiastic or silly at all!

Freedom!

Hooray! I finally have my braces off!!! I just got them off yesterday, and now my teeth are amazingly pretty! hahaha ;-P They feel so slimey and weird now though...I mean, I haven't felt my normal teeth in two years! It's such a relief, though :)

Before (this was when I was...11, I think?)
During (taken this summer)

After (taken yesterday!)

Also this week (weak, eh Farabz? ;-P) we performed the killing scene from Julius Caeser in English, and I seriously wish I had my camera with me! I mean, our teacher went all out with the performance thing; we had tablecloth togas, marker daggers, and a bowl of paint for blood. We even had a hand-drawn statue of Pompey! (gingerbread style! don't ask...) XD

Reflections

Another year come and gone. So soon. What happened to 2008?

It was a memorable year. One of the most memorable for me. So much happened, I can't sum it all up! Some people pick out the highlights, and share those. Some just wish everybody a happy new year and leave it at that. I don't know what I'll do. Maybe I'll just thank you all for giving me such a memorable year! From awesome birthdays to mall outings to trips abroad to concerts to get togethers to just our regular old math lessons, you have all helped to make this year special for me. Both the good times and the bad live with me, every waking moment and every second of sleep. I miss you all, and those of you who are here with me now, I look forward to making more memories with you.
Welcome, 2009!

Partying With Pilgrims - Part 3

Today we went to Yorktown, the historic battlefield where the Americans won the Revolutionary War in 1781!!

Us with one of the numerous cannons on display

Firing his imaginary rifle

Walking Along British Lines

CHARGE!!!!!!!!

The Lone Soldier

Pointy Protectors

Now that we made it to the American side of the battlefield, Lily decided it was safe to sit down

"Ouch"
Watch where you're walking, Dad!

Dad, firing his stick-musket at the approaching Nathaniel

Climbing through the defenses
She's unstoppable!!!!!!! :O

Sneaky...

Jump!

I wouldn't take any risks right now...

No idea why he wanted me to take this one...

...what on earth?!

Lily, taking a peaceful nap on the cannon, while Nathaniel prepares to dunk his head in

*We fired our guns but the British kept a comin'*
'The Fox', as this gun's called

Steady...

...aim....

...FIRE!!

...and now relax :)

Goodness, Nate! Don't get your arm stuck in it!
Pretty tree! :) If you look closely, you might be able to see the red berries on it ;)

The Last One Standing

After we finished walking around the battlefield, we went into the actual town of Yorktown.

Even here, people still decorate colonial style! I like the crab ;)

Pretty Beach =D

We went to the Yorktown Bar for lunch
I like the glasses ;)

They even brought one of the cool mugs for my sis's milk! =D

Cute Little Town :)

Sitting On A Bench while we walk around

Hypocrite!!!!!

One way down the street...

...and the other way!

I don't know why I bothered taking this pic ;-P

Sky!!

The View

Freeze Tag!

Before we hit the rode, we stopped at Ben&Jerry's for ice cream! =D

"I'm getting the chocolate frozen yoghurt so I can pretend i'm being healthy."

My "Imagine Whirled Peace" Ice Cream! Vanilla and caramel swirled together with chocolate peace signs!

And indeed, I slept quite peacefully for the ride home :)
So cheap gas DOES still exist! WOOT!

And that was my short vacation.
